• STAAR Testing May 14, 15, 16

    STAAR testing is this week.

    Monday – 3rd/4th Math

    Tuesday – 3rd/4th Reading

    Wednesday – 5th Science

    Our campus will be closed to visitors all week.  We appreciate your understanding and support as we work to provide a testing environment with as few distractions as possible so that each of our Stars can perform at their personal best and shine brightly!

  • Library Books are Due

    Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade library books were due Friday, May 11.
    3rd/4th grade library books are due Tuesay, May 15, after STAAR testing.
    5th grade library books are due Wednesday, May 16, after STAAR testing.
    If library books have been lost, or damaged beyond repair, they will need to be paid for so they can be replaced.

    May 17 – Informational meeting for those interested in First LEGO League (meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. at Hajek Elementary)
    May 19 – City on a Hill Festival and BISD Annual Character March at BISD Stadium
    May 21 – Senior Walk for former Stribling Stars (7:45); 5th grade Awards Celebration followed by class party
    May 22 – 3rd and 4th grade Awards Celebration during Rotation class period (3rd grade at 8:50 and 4th grade at 9:45)
    May 24 – K-2nd graded Awards Celebration in their classrooms; K-3rd grade Field Day on our campus (8:30-12:30); Sack Lunch ONLY option through the cafeteria; Class Parties following lunch
    May 25 – LAST DAY OF SCHOOL with Early Dismissal at 11:45! Final KSAS Broadcast followed by annual Library Awards and Recognition; Slide Show; “Moving Up” Ceremony including photos with the teachers at the next grade level; Sack Lunch ONLY option in the cafeteria for those needing a lunch; students dismissed at 11:45!!!

  • BISD 2018-2019 Calendar Approved

    The Burleson ISD student calendar for the 2018-19 school year is approved.

    Students will start school Monday, August 20, 2018. The last day of the school year is Friday, May 24, 2019. The calendar includes 172 days of instruction and requires five additional elementary minutes per day.

  • 2017-2018 School Calendar Approved

    2017-18 School Year Calendar Approved

    BURLESON, Texas (March 28, 2017) – The Burleson Independent School District (BISD) Board of Trustees approved a resolution for BISD to become a District of Innovation, giving the district greater local control and exemptions from a number of state statutes, to better serve the education needs of students. Changes were incorporated into the 2017-18 school year calendar approved at the March 27 board meeting.

  • AR Home Connect


    Students in grades 1-5 participate in AR (Accelerated Reader), an online reading comprehension program.  After a student reads a book/story, they can log on to AR (from school only) and test their comprehension of that book/story.  If you would like to monitor your child’s progress, click here for more information.  With this, you can even set up email notifications after they’ve taken a quiz!

    You will need your child’s AR username and password, which your child should know.  If they do not, contact your child’s teacher.
